Is there a connection between neoliberalism and the 1984 pogrom?

October 31 marks the 36th anniversary of the 1984 anti-Sikh pogrom which took place in Delhi and in other Indian cities. The Sikh separatist movement known as the Khalistani movement is often blamed for the assassination of Indira Gandhi which is what served as an immediate justification for the violence, but many believe that this is not the full story. Join us for a discussion of the connection between neoliberalism and 1984, led by the Jagmohan Singh, the nephew of Indian freedom fighter Bhagat Singh and an author and activist in his own right.
